Lower Monumental Monolith Repair Temporarily Closes Dam to Vehicle Crossings

KAHLOTUS, WA - Vehicle crossings at Lower Monumental Lock and Dam are temporarily closed until May 1st to accommodate maintenance activities to occur on top of the dam.  The US Army Corps of Engineers’ Walla Walla District says the closure is necessary for public safety while maintenance staff repairs two monolith joint seals.

Rain Moving Into Region, Will Bring Threats of Flooding, Mudslides, etc.

CLARKSTON, WA - The National Weather Service says rain will move in to the region later tonight and into tomorrow morning, with scattered showers remaining in the region through Tuesday evening. A threat of thunderstorms will accompany some of the showers as well, especially on Tuesday.  This could result in widespread flooding, landslides, and other damaging events.

Wood Products Industry & Education Partners Receive Training Grant to Manufacturing

LEWISTON, ID - Lewis Clark State College, North Idaho College, and five wood product manufacturing companies have partnered to use a $482,582 workforce development grant to train more than 200 workers in the wood products manufacturing industry over the next two years.  Idaho Forest Group, Potlatch Land and Lumber LLC, Stimson Lumber Co., Empire Lumber Company, and Plummer Forest Product (a total of 11 mills) are the five business partners in the grant.
