Vandals look to defend the Kibbie Dome against Idaho State

MOSCOW, ID - The Idaho Vandals are set to host fellow Big Sky Conference foe Idaho State tomorrow afternoon in the Kibbie Dome, in a rivalry that has been named "The Battle of the Domes." The Vandals certainly hope this year's edition will be in their favor as they come into the game on a three-game losing streak, and a rough outting last week at the hands of Portland State, where they were held scoreless. Idaho State on the other hand is riding high after a 55-20 beat down win over North Dakota, as it looks to carry that momentum into tomorrow afternoon's game.

At 2:30 p.m. Saturday in the Kibbie Dome, ISU will get a shot at strengthening its state chokehold, and knocking off the Vandals in Moscow for the first time since 1981, the same year it won a national championship in one of only two all-time playoff appearances. Idaho may lead the series 28-12 all-time against the Bengals, but the tide appears to be changing. Were Idaho State to win tomorrow, it'd be just it's third 2-game winning streak against the Vandals in program history.

The Vandals' main issue is obviously the quarterback situation, as Mason Petrino and Colton Richardson have struggled to put a firm grip on the position, both of them struggling with conscistency, leading to inconscistency on the offensive side of the ball as a whole. They'll need some production out of the man under center tomorrow if they hope to keep the visiting Bengals at bay.

The Vandal's season could have been much different than the disappointing 2-5 we see in the Big Sky standings. Three of their five losses combined to total a 14-point difference...
