Winchester Lake State Park Hosting Flamenco Music & Dance Night July 15th

WINCHESTER, ID - Winchester Lake State Park will host a flamenco music and dance night on July 15th at 8:30 p.m. This performance is free and open to the public.

From the Idaho Commission on the Arts:
Estefanía Sanchez and her apprentice, Amalia Romero, will demonstrate work accomplished during the last year with assistance from a grant provided through the Traditional Arts Apprenticeship Program. The two worked on several dances borne and steeped in the flamenco culture and heritage of Southern Spain. The Boise-based flamenco group, Shimi Tree, will accompany the dancers with live music and commentary.

The Traditional Arts Apprenticeship Program is an annual grant awarded through the Folk & Traditional Arts Program at the Idaho Commission on the Arts. The grant supports folk art masters who pass knowledge and skills to apprentices. The program cultivates a learning partnership between a recognized master artist and one or more qualified apprentices to continue artistic traditions of a shared cultural heritage.
