Whitman County Man Sentenced to Prison For Child Porn
COLFAX, WA - A 31-year-old St. John man who previously pled guilty to dealing in child pornography was sentenced to prison today in Whitman County Superior Court. Benjamin Isaacs was handed a 15-month sentence, three years of Washington Department of Corrections supervision, and $1,800 in fines and costs.
"$1000 of the fines imposed allocate directly to the Child Rescue Fund, which is designed to provide financial resources to child advocacy centers and the Washington Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force," according to a press release from the Whitman County Prosecutor's Office.
Chief Deputy Prosecutor Dan LeBeau says this was a significant case in their ongoing effort to prosecute those who victimize the most vulnerable people.
"The investigation and successful prosecution of this matter would not have been possible without the hard work and collaborative effort of local law enforcement agencies. Specifically, Detective Scott Kirk of the Pullman Police Department, Eric Kjorness of the Moscow, Idaho Police Department, and Sergeant Keith Cooper of the Whitman County Sheriff's Office," LeBeau says.
