Dayton High School Student Taken Into Custody Following Threat
DAYTON, WA - The Dayton School District says a high school student was taken into custody after they made a threatening remark regarding the safety of students and others at the school earlier today. The allegation was immediately taken seriously and investigated.
"A decision was made to include the Columbia County Sheriff Department in the investigation. The Sheriff's Department has taken the student into custody. The District will continue to cooperate with law enforcement regarding the incident. Parents, students, and community members are encouraged to contact school officials if they believe they have information that could be used to protect the safety of Dayton's children and school employees," according to a press release.
With the cooperation of the Sheriff's Office and District guidelines, school will continue tomorrow as scheduled.
