Elderly Clarkston Man Accused of Possessing Child Porn, Child Molestation, & Communication With a Minor For Immoral Purposes
ASOTIN, WA - Charges were added and a trial date set for a 75-year-old Clarkston man who allegedly molested a boy and possessed photos of child pornography. Ralph Saeger is now charged with one count of 3rd-Degree Child Molestation; nine counts of 1st-Degree Possession of Depiction of Minor Engaged in Sexually Explicit Conduct; one count of 2nd-Degree Possession of Depiction of Minor Engaged in Sexually Explicit Conduct; and one count of Communication With a Minor For Immoral Purposes.
Saeger is set to begin trial on February 8th in Asotin County Superior Court.
Saeger turned himself in to law enforcement officials in Clarkston on May 15, 2017 after he allegedly touched a 14-year-old boy inappropriately following a day of fishing. He reportedly told an Asotin County Deputy that the day before, he and the boy went fishing at a local pond. At about 5:00 p.m. they went to Saeger's home.
"While at the house Saeger asked [the boy] if [he] wanted to be naked," the Deputy says in the affidavit. The boy reportedly undressed down to his underwear and Saeger was naked, court documents say.
"Saeger said that the two sat on the couch together," according to the affidavit, adding that he asked the boy if he wanted to be touched to which he reportedly responded "yes."
A search warrant was served at Saeger's residence in the 2200 block of Appleside Blvd. last May and the court documents say an investigator found a "large amount" of images of child pornography of young children, images of bestiality with some involving young children, and at least 20 pornographic images with known child victims.
There were several inappropriate pictures of a Nez Perce County boy who is now 17-years-old, court documents say. Information was reportedly found on his digital devices and social media that indicated the teen was communicating with Saeger in April of 2017. A Lewiston Police Detective who is a forensic investigator conducted an investigation into the images.
Saeger remains in the Asotin County Jail on $25,000 bond.
