Fatality Crash South of Pullman

PULLMAN, WA - UPDATE: Mr. Torres-Rios passed away Sunday morning at 11:12 a.m.
UPDATE: One person was killed and another seriously injured in a collision on US 195 south of Pullman at 12:48 p.m.  The Washington State Patrol says 28-year-old Fernando Reyes-Plascencia of Spokane Valley was northbound in a Suzuki Swift when he drifted onto the shoulder and lost control near milepost 15.  The car then collided with a southbound 2007 Kenworth semi in the southbound lane.

A passenger in the car, 32-year-old Javier Torres-Rios of Spokane Valley, was airlifted to Sacred Heart Medical Center.  The semi driver, 28-year-old Derek Cocking of Colfax, was not injured.

All occupants were wearing seatbelts.

Rescue personnel are on the scene of a reported fatality crash.  According to the Washington State Patrol, the collision involves a car and a semi.  US 195 is blocked near milepost 15.5, five miles south of Pullman.  The crash happened at approximately 12:48 p.m.
