Soap Lake Fire Growing

1400 Acres So Far

SOAP LAKE, WA – A fire burning in central Washington has caught the attention of the State Patrol.  Because the State Fire Marshal’s Office is part of the WSP, they have mobilized fire assistance for the Soap Lake Fire.  It’s burning about 5 miles north of Soap Lake, WA.  That’s northwest of Moses Lake.  The State Patrol Chief authorized the mobilization of state firefighting resources at 12:45 this morning.  So far the fire has burned 1400 acres and is threatening homes, agriculture, and power infrastructure.  There are level 2 and 3 evacuation orders in effect for the area.  Level 2 means “be ready to leave”.  Level 3 means “leave now”.
