High Speed Eluding Arrest
Northeast of Grangeville
GRANGEVILLE, ID – A high-speed pursuit ended relatively peacefully Friday. An Idaho County Sheriff’s Deputy attempted to stop a man driving recklessly on Sally Ann Road northeast of Grangeville. That’s when the driver, 40 year old Jeremy W. Garcia, sped away allegedly going 80 miles an hour in a 35 zone. He eventually came to a stop in the ditch on James Road and fled the scene. Once deputies found him, they say he approached the one deputy in an aggressive and threatening manner. Garcia did not comply with the deputy’s commands, so the deputy aimed his taser at Garcia. A press release says a Sergeant assisted Garcia with complying and placed him under arrest. They took Garcia to the Idaho County Jail on $30,000 bond. He was charged with felony eluding, misdemeanor resisting and obstructing, and driving without privileges.
