Start Thinking Back To School Driving

Asotin Police Dept

ASOTIN, WA – More school-age pedestrians are killed during the hour before and after school than any other time of day, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Another study by the National Safe Routes to School program shows more kids are hit by cars near schools than any other location. That’s why the Asotin Police Chief is already sending out a warning. School starts up again on the 28th, and he wants to make sure drivers are ready to stop when they see buses. He recommends you familiarize yourself with drop-off routes at the school, and never pass a bus if the sign is out and the lights are flashing.
