Third Drone Intrusion Keeps Firefighters From Getting Food

Rattlesnake Creek Fire

RIGGINS, ID – Yesterday someone flying a drone over the Rattlesnake Creek Fire kept firefighters from getting food at their camp.  The helicopter that was bringing it had to return to the helibase.  This is the third time they have had to stop firefighting efforts because of people flying drones in the area that is under flight restriction.

A little more than 1/10th of an inch of rain fell on the fire last night, but it remains at 28% contained, and at 8,125 acres in size.  408 people are working to put out the blaze, and so far they have kept it from destroying any buildings.

There’s an informational meeting tonight open to anyone interested.  It’s at New Meadows High School.  It starts at 6:30 Mountain Time, 5:30 Pacific Time.  If you can’t make it, you can watch the live stream on their facebook page:
