Driver Eluding Nez Perce County Deputies Caught In Spokane County

Last Night

LEWISTON, ID – A man and his juvenile passenger were taken into custody in Spokane County early this morning after allegedly eluding deputies in Nez Perce County last night.  A press release from the Sheriff’s Office says at 11:42 pm, deputies stopped a blue Honda CRV on Highway 95 at Frontage Road.  When the deputy returned to his vehicle to check the subjects through dispatch, the driver took off at a high rate of speed.  A few miles later, the driver, Christopher McNeill, crossed the median and headed northbound on Highway 95.

The release goes on to say that at the top of the Lewiston Hill, McNeill took the Pullman exit and continued into Washington.  The deputies followed into Washington for about two miles, stopped, and then relayed the information to Law Enforcement in Washington State.

When the information came back on the vehicle, the deputy found out that it had been reported stolen through Clarkston Police.

At roughly 2:00 am today, Washington State Patrol Troopers stopped the Honda in Spokane County and took McNeill and his passenger into custody.

Nez Perce County Deputies will pursue charges against McNeill for Felony Eluding, Felony Possession of Stolen Vehicle, and Reckless Driving.
