Casino Interchange Gets New Website

Explains Plans To Come

NEZ PERCE COUNTY, ID – There’s a new website to keep drivers updated on what’s happening to the highway near the Casino.  The Idaho Transportation Department and the Nez Perce Tribe are collaborating on the site to provide information and updates to the accident-prone area where seven people have died since 1996.  Combining both entrances, there were 18 crashes between 2012 and 2017 tied to movements to and from the area.  The website says most of the crashes were because drivers exited the plaza turning left and failed to yield to oncoming traffic.

The site says once the Nez Perce Tribe has secured funding, the planned improvements can go forward, possibly finished by next winter.
