Suspect In Sarah Warden Killing In Court Today
LEWISTON, ID – One of three people charged with being involved in the killing of Sarah Warden was in court today. The court hearing was for a change of plea, but it there was no action today except to schedule another court date.
Jones originally pleaded not guilty in early January. She’ll be back in court on April 26th to discuss her plea change. During today’s court appearance, Jones’ lawyer asked that Jones be released, even if on house arrest until her trial. The reasoning behind the request was that Jones’ child’s father was recently injured and will need surgery. The prosecutor representing the State of Idaho objected to the release citing an outstanding misdemeanor warrant and the fact that Jones allegedly fled after the killing. Jones was spotted in Rathdrum, ID at about 11:30 pm the day of the incident. The judge did not make a decision and will take both sides under advisement.
Sarah Warden was allegedly killed and there are three suspects charged in her murder. Amanda Jones is one of them. She was seen leaving the Clarkston Wal Mart with Warden at about 1:00 am the night Warden was allegedly killed.
Gabriel Mattingly pleaded guilty last week to Accessory to First-Degree Murder and Failure To Notify Authorities Of A Death.
Cole Marcell has a Preliminary Hearing on April 19th.
