Pharmacy Tech Convicted of Stealing, Distributing Pills
LEWISTON, ID – A pharmacy technician has been sentenced to more than four years in federal prison for stealing medications and selling them. 44-year-old Marcella Moore was convicted for conspiracy to distribute controlled substances. Moore will also have to serve three years supervised release after her release from prison and she’ll have to pay the Owl Pharmacy $30,000.
Court records show Moore began stealing prescription drugs in August 2017 and stole nearly 60,000 pills over the next 11 months before she was arrested. More than 45,000 of them were Hydrocodone, 1,800 of them were Oxycodone, and 1,600 of them were Lorazepam. Records show she distributed many of the pills to others who sold them locally.
The Owl Pharmacy worked closely with the Bureau of Indian Affairs Drug Division, the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Lewiston Police, and others to catch Moore.
