ACFD’s New Station Should Be Ready Next Spring

Alaska Contractor Awarded Bid

ASOTIN COUNTY, WA – Medics and Firefighters who volunteer for the Asotin County Fire District could be in their new fire station in the spring next year.  At the District Commissioners’ meeting yesterday evening the vote was unanimous to award a contract that will combine phases two and three to finish the build.  Phase one was leveling the ground and doing some infrastructure work.  If bids had come in too high, there would have needed to be a third phase of construction.  The bid that was awarded is for work at the cost of just under $3 Million.

Commissioners opened the bids last week and awarded the work yesterday to SMNC Properties out of Alaska.  The company may not be local, but they have assured the Fire District that most, if not all, of the work will be done by local sub-contractors.
