Judge Scott Galina Arrested For Criminal Sexual Misconduct
Washington State Patrol Handling Investigation
ASOTIN, WA - Superior Court Judge Scott D. Galina was arrested today for Criminal Sexual Misconduct. A press release from the Washington State Patrol that was released late this afternoon does not go into detail about the charges, but it does say that the Asotin County Sheriff's Office requested the State Patrol's involvement on March 29th.
The Asotin County Prosecutor requested the case and prosecution be led by attorneys form the Washington State Attorney General's office.
WSP Chief John Batiste said "From time to time, law enforcement agencies across the state request that we take specific roles in an investigation so there can be no question of the transparency, fairness, and thoroughness of the process."
WSP Lieutenant Randy Hullinger hopes anyone with information about the case or potential victims to reach out to investigators. "Victims of sexual abuse are often afraid to tell anyone, especially when the accused abuser has a position of power. Victims can sometimes think they themselves did something wrong or they may get in trouble or be embarrassed by revealing what has happened to them" Hullinger said.
If you have information, you can call Detective Sergeant Greg Tri or Detective Scott Neustel at 509-249-6743.
