LCSC Technical Center Groundbreaking Friday

Governor Little To Speak

LEWISTON, ID – Work starts Friday morning on the new Schweitzer Career & Technical Education Center.  A groundbreaking ceremony will kick off construction on the latest addition to Lewis-Clark State College.

Governor Brad Little, LCSC President Cynthia Pemberton, Dr. Ed Schweitzer, Senator Dan Johnson, and a representative from Rogers Motors will be on-hand for the 30-minute ceremony that is open to anyone.  Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories donated $2 million to the project.  Dr. Ed and Beatriz Schweitzer donated another $1 million, and Rogers Motors donated $150,000 to help make the project a reality.  The Idaho Legislature approved the project in 2017 and appropriated $10 million of tax money to fund it.  Lewis-Clark State College has generated more than $5 million through donations and grants so far.  The most recent estimate puts the cots at $24.8 million.

The ceremony is April 19th at 10:00 am.  It’s located just north of the new Lewiston High School construction area on Cecil Andrus Way.
