Charles "Fritz" Adams is April’s Veteran who Rocks!
My Veteran Rocks
This month, our Veteran who rocks was nominated by another Veteran. Charles Adams is better known to his friends at the VA Outpatient Clinic as “Fritz”. He donates his time as a volunteer to help others at the clinic. Laila Brinkley is a Veteran and an employee at the clinic. Here’s what Laila had to say in the “My Veteran Rocks” nomination letter.
Charles “Fritz” Adams is a Veteran who served in the Navy as a Corpsman. Fritz, as he likes to be called, is a volunteer at the VA Community Based Outpatient Clinic in Lewiston. As a volunteer, Fritz makes sure there is coffee, hot water, and cookies available for our Veterans to enjoy yet Fritz provides much, MUCH more. Fritz is a consistent source of smiles, always having a joke ready to tell us even if at times he can’t make it to punch line because laughter takes over. He takes the time to get to know employees and Veterans alike. He truly cares about how you're doing. He spends countless hours at our lobby reminiscing with fellow Veterans about their time in the service during Vietnam or simply listening to WWII, Korean, Gulf, and Afghanistan Veterans speak of their experiences. He provides information and assists Veterans in signing up for the Honor Flight. At times providing motivation to those who would otherwise feel undeserving of such recognition. Fritz is a good, funny, and kind hearted man and I am privileged to know him. For his ongoing service and for all his support, I nominate Charles Adams for Veteran who Rocks.
