JROTC Program Earns Prestigious Award

Distinguished Unit Award

CLARKSTON, WA – The Air Force recognized the Clarkston High School JROTC unit as one of the best.  The local group of students has earned the Distinguished Unit Award for the 2018-2019 school year.

The distinction means the students have “performed well above and beyond normal expectations” through outstanding service to their school and community while meeting the program mission.

The program’s goal is, in part, to educate and train high school cadets in citizenship and life skills, instilling character and self-discipline, and to instruct in air and space fundamentals.

There are roughly 900 high schools that have an Air Force JROTC program.  CHS is one of 376 who were recognized with the award.
