Free Fishing Weekend
Tomorrow & Sunday | Washington
CLARKSTON, WA – Tomorrow starts free fishing weekend in Washington State. That means you don’t need a license to reel in a big one. You’ll still have to abide by the catch limits, size limits, and other state and local rules. You also don’t need a vehicle access pass at the locations where one is usually needed.
This weekend, Asotin County Sportsmen are hosting a kids fishing event at West Evans Pond. The location on Highway 12 just outside of Clarkston will have free hotdogs and pop for kids who register when they get there. They have prizes for the largest and smallest fish caught. It’s for kids 14 and younger from 8:00 am until noon. If you don’t have a pole, the Pomeroy Ranger District will have some to loan out while supplies last.
In addition to fishing for free, you can visit state parks without needing a Discover Pass to park there. The closest one is Fields Spring State Park just south of Anatone. Its hiking trails take you to beautiful vistas of the Blue Mountains.
