"Little Fire" Contained In Blue Mountains
West of Anatone
ASOTIN COUNTY, WA – The fire in the Blue Mountains is contained. The “Little Fire” started Wednesday night west of Anatone, but crews couldn’t find it until yesterday morning. By the time they did, it was four acres in size. Yesterday it grew to just five acres before firefighters could contain it.
A Forest Service crew and engine from Pomeroy are working on it with two Washington Department of Natural Resources engines. Another tender truck will join the crews today to help mop up and make sure the fire is out. Crews should be done and out of the forest by Sunday night.
