WWII Aircraft Arrive For Radials N’ Rivers

Event Starts at 9am Saturday | Hillcrest Aircraft Company

LEWISTON, ID – If you heard a lot of noise over the Lewiston sky this morning, it was a group of World War II fighters coming to town.  The Radials N’ Rivers Fly-In is tomorrow.  Today the planes are coming in throughout the day to find a good place to park for viewing.  This morning it was the P51 Mustangs and P40 Warhawks.

This afternoon two Flying Aces from World War II will be flying in for a banquet tonight.  Bud Anderson is an Army Air Corps Triple Ace, which means he shot down more than 15 enemy aircraft during the war.  “Whitey” Fightner is a Navy Flying Ace and the only living original Blue Angel.

Tomorrow the gates to Hillcrest Aircraft Company open at 7:00 am.  Hillcrest is on the west side of the airport.  The opening ceremonies start at 9:00 with a flight session to follow.  There will be an afternoon flight session starting at 2:00 pm.  The event closes down at 5:00 pm.

Admission and parking are free.  There are three parking lots where you can catch a free shuttle every 15 minutes.  We have attached a map below.  For more information, you can click here: https://lcvalley.dailyfly.com/Events/Radials-N-Rivers-Fly-In
