Marijuana, Race, & Politics Discussed At Upcoming Library Talks

Aug 6th, 13th, 20th | Basalt Cellars | 6:30pm

CLARKSTON,WA – The Asotin County Library is hosting three discussions aimed at hot-button topics.  They’re all going to be held at Basalt Cellars.

The first is “Equality on Trial: Race, Fairness, and the US Supreme Court”.  The speaker is laywer and professor Timothy Golden.  He’ll talk about if it’s possible to be treated equally, but unfairly.  It’s coming up August 6th beginning at 6:30 pm.

The second talks about the effect Facebook and Twitter are having on the political world.  It’s called “Hacking Democracy: What Social Media is Doing to US Politics”.  The speaker is WSU Professor Travis Ridout.  It’s August 13th starting at 6:30 pm.

“Marijuana: Evil Weed or Medical Miracle?” is the third talk.  It will delve into the history and research of the drug.  It’s August 20th.  It also begins at 6:30 pm.

All three events have free admission and are open to the public.
