Chase Ends Across State Line
Wrong Way Down A One-Way
NEZ PERCE / ASOTIN COUNTIES – A man is in jail after allegedly running from law enforcement officers across the state line at about 12:30 this morning. A press release from the Nez Perce County Sheriff’s Office says 55-year-old Sedro-Wooley, WA resident Robert Vantine was speeding on Highway 95, turned onto Frontage Road in North Lewiston, crossed Highway 12 going the wrong direction on a one-way street, and headed westbound on the north side of the Snake River. He drove into Washington and across the Red Wolf Bridge. Asotin County deputies stopped him near 15th Street and Bridge Street.
Once Vantine is extradited back to Idaho, the release says he’ll face felony eluding charges. He also has three outstanding misdemeanor warrants in Idaho.
