Lewis Clark Animal Shelter Receives $40,000 Petco Foundation Grant

LEWISTON, ID - Lewis Clark Animal Shelter announced Tuesday it has been awarded a $40,000 grant from the Petco Foundation. The shelter says the funds will extend its ability to support its lifesaving efforts in Nez Perce County and Asotin County. In a statement, the shelter says the Petco Foundation grant will help begin the process toward building a new facility. "The Lewis Clark Animal Shelter strives to lead by example in the humane treatment of animals," said Becky Sturmer, development director at Lewis Clark Animal Shelter. "A new facility will enable us to expand our proactive programs to educate the public and better serve our community. Our current shelter is no longer efficient for the current community shelter needs and we're grateful this Petco Foundation grant will help us continue our lifesaving work." Lewis Clark Animal Shelter has served the Lewis Clark Valley since 1950.
