Staged Robbery Leads to Three Arrests
LEWISTON, ID - Lewiston Police Detectives arrested three people on charges of Burglary and Grand Theft after they staged a robbery at the Lewiston Dollar Tree Store on 8/29/19, at about 9:25 P.M. Heather L. Massie, 27, Felicia A. Nash, 32, and her husband, Christopher J. Hubbard, 36, all of Lewiston, were arrested on 8/30/19 at the conclusion of the investigation that started on 8/29/19. On 8/29/19, Lewiston Police officers were dispatched to the report of an armed robbery that had just taken place at the Dollar Tree Store, 2010 Thain Grade. Massie called 9-1-1 to report that a man with a knife had just robbed the store. She said the suspect was wearing all black clothing, including a black bandanna face mask and had fled on foot toward Thain Road with the store's money. Responding officers arrived and started the investigation. No s uspect was located at that time.
Lewiston Police Detectives continued the investigation into the next morning. It appeared there were some discrepancies in the initial statements and information provided to dispatch. Detectives interviewed Nash, who ultimately admitted the robbery was a false report. The information discovered led investigators to Massie and Nash's husband, Hubbard. All three suspects were interviewed and confessed to staging the robbery to steal money. Most of the stolen money was recovered by detectives.
