Youth Steam Career Fair

The Lewiston City Library will be hosting a STEAM Career Fair on Saturday, December 7, from 1PM - 3PM. On October 21, the Idaho STEM Action Center invited the Lewiston City Library to participate in the Family & Career STEM Awareness Event Grant, jointly sponsored by the STEM Action Center and the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare. As part of the grant, the career fair highlights STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) positions and careers in our local community and is intended for junior high through undergraduate students and their parents. Participating STEAM professionals from organizations including the Army Corps of Engineers, Fish & Game, City of Lewiston Public Works, TD&H Engineering, the Lewiston Tribune and Lewis-Clark State College will be present to discuss and demonstrate how STEAM is used in their day-to-day jobs and how to succeed in their career fields. Youth are also invited to complete a Lego challenge while visiting with the professionals to win a free book.
