Ericksen Available for Comment on Department of Justice Crackdown on King County ‘Sanctuary’ Policy

Sen. Doug Ericksen, R-Ferndale, is available for comment on the U.S. Department of Justice’s crackdown on King County “sanctuary” policies that bar cooperation between local agencies and federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). Ericksen opposed a measure during last year’s legislative session requiring every local government in the state to implement policies similar to those of King County.

On Monday, U.S. Attorney General Barr announced plans for lawsuits and other sanctions against state and local governments that obstruct the “lawful functioning of our nation’s immigration system.” At the same time, U.S. Attorneys in this state announced a lawsuit targeting King County’s refusal to allow ICE flights in and out of Boeing Field.
