Update on Vehicle Crash into the Clearwater River Near Kamiah

*** UDPATE *** On June 27th, 2020 the vehicle was spotted in the river in the area of US12 at milepost 71.The Idaho County Sheriff's Office dive team arrived at 1:59 PM and confirmed it was the vehicle. The deceased female occupant was identified as Connie Williams by her tattoos. Williams and the vehicle have been recovered from the river. Williams was not wearing a seatbelt. Next of kin has been notified.

On June 6th, 2020 the Idaho State Police investigated a crash on US12 at milepost 71.6. At approximately 05:51 AM, Connie Williams was travelling eastbound on US12 in a 1994 Toyota Corolla when she left the roadway and went into the Clearwater River. The vehicle was briefly seen and identified before it was fully submerged. Life Flight and multiple boats were deployed to search the area, but were unable to locate the vehicle or victim at this time. The investigation is still ongoing. Next of kin has been notified. If you see either the vehicle or victim please call 911 immediately.
