(LEWISTON) Friday Evening Structure Fire

Press Release | City of Lewiston Fire Department

The Lewiston Fire Department responded to 515 24th Street North for a reported structure fire at 7 pm Friday. First arriving crews found smoke coming from the front porch and attic area of the home. Witnesses stated seeing flames on the front porch that had been extinguished using a garden hose. One family member was home at the time of the fire and exited the building unharmed. The fire had worked its way into the attic and fire crews made access to extinguish the attic fire and assess the level of fire extension into the structure. Crews were able to quickly knockdown the fire to limit the damage and extension into the home.
The Lewiston Fire Department responded with three structural engines, three ambulances, two chief officers and one fire investigator for a total of 18 personnel. The Clarkston Fire Department assisted with automatic aid, providing one structural engine with 4 personnel. No firefighter or bystander injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. Damage estimates to the structural are approximately $25,000.
