Virtual Public Meetings Invitation for Regionwide Active Transportation

Virtual Public Meetings Invitation for Regionwide Active Transportation

News Release | Pullman Chamber of Commerce

The Palouse RTPO invites the communities in the counties of Whitman, Garfield, Columbia, Asotin and adjacent counties, to participate in two virtual public meetings of the Palouse’s Regionwide Active Transportation Plan. The Active Transportation Plan is using an active modes of travel such as walking, biking, or skateboarding. Almost everyone uses active transportation at some point during a trip, whether walking to a bus stop, bicycling to work, or rolling home from school.

The Active Transportation Plan helps us learn from you and others to shape recommendations for policy decisions, investments and improvements. The plan will consider where we are now, where we want to go, and how we are going to get there in the coming years. It coordinates with your local city and county plans, so we invite you to get involved.

Please provide your input where there is a need for improvement, repairs, new capacity and concerns related to safety and engineering for Sidewalks, Trails, Bike Paths, etc. You will also hear from your local city and county representatives on active transportation updates. You can provide your input on your Active Transportation expectations (regional connectivity, new projects, new trails, etc.) for the four-county region. We encourage you to attend the meeting virtually to share your feedback. The PRTPO will also be providing online public surveys and interactive maps for your virtual input from October 1 to November 30, 2020.

Please visit the PRTPO website for the online survey links or see the link below:
