Lewiston City Council Votes to Extend Payment Date for Restaurant and Bar Alcohol Licenses

Impacts of the COVID-19 Pandemic have hit local restaurants and bars particularly hard. A number of current license holders in Lewiston have expressed concern with making renewal payments by the normal deadline of January 31st and have asked for additional time.

“We value our local hospitality and restaurant businesses, and recognize the vital role they play in the growth and sustainability of our economy and overall quality of life for patrons,” Business Licensing Coordinator Erika Stricker said.

Restaurant and bar licensees are still required to submit their request for renewal and other required documents by January 31st. A temporary six-month license may be issued with payment that will be due upon the expiration of the provisional license on July 31, 2021.
