Two Suspects Arrested in Connection to the Murder of Lewiston Resident

Last night, (1/12/21) Lewiston Police Detectives arrested 42 year old Clyde Kenneth Ewing IV amd his 16 year old son, for the first degree murder of Samuel R. Johns. Both suspects were found in Clarkston. Clyde K. Ewing was booked into the Asotin County Jail, and his 16 year old son was booked into the juvenile detention center, in Lewiston. Lewiston Police Detectives were assisted by Clarkston Police and the Quad City Drug Task Force. 

On Friday morning (1/8), at approximately 1:41 A.M. Lewiston Police received a report of a shooting located in the 1700 block of 7th Avenue. Initial information was that two subjects had come into a residence, shot a male, then fled the area. Officers arrived on the scene and discovered a male inside the residence had been shot. A male, identified as Samuel R. Johns, was pronounced deceased at the scene by paramedics.

The investigation is ongoing. The LPD is seeking any information and or any video from the LC Valley Community. The suspects travelled from the 800 block of Bridge Street in Clarkston, to the 1700 Block of 8th Ave. in Lewiston. The suspects travelled from Clarkston to Lewiston on Bicycles. Detectives are specifically looking for the suspects riding, or walking their bicycles from Clarkston to Lewiston and from Lewiston to Clarkston in the approximate time frame of 12:40 A.M. to 2:14 A.M.
