Warrior Basketball Sweep Weekly Conference Honors
CORVALLIS, Oregon ¬- A successful week for Lewis-Clark State Basketball was rewarded with two Cascade Conference Embrace Health-Santiam Hospital Players of the Week. Kiara Burlage earned the award on the women's side, while Trystan Bradley was recognized on the men's side.
The Warriors' women's team split a two-game series with the NCAA DII Seattle Pacific squad and the men completed a season sweep of the Yellowstone Christian College Centurions. Burlage and Bradley both played pivotal roles in the wins.
In the upset victory over Seattle Pacific, Burlage shot 50 percent from the field, including two 3-pointers that amounted to 19 points to lead the Warriors to the victory. Burlage would go on to tack on 25 more points in the second game of the series, which included three 3-pointers and she also grabbed eight rebounds.
Bradley and the Warriors' men's team continued their dominance last weekend with a sweep over Yellowstone Christian College. In the first game of the two-game series, Bradley had a game-high 23 points. With these points, Bradley became the 16th player in LC State Men's Basketball history to break the 1,000-point mark. He also grabbed 10 rebounds in the game to give him his third double-double on the year.
The Warrior men will be back in action on Wednesday and Thursday for a back-to-back exhibition series against Seattle Pacific in Seattle. The women will head to Billings, Mont. this weekend to take on MSU-Billings on Friday and Saturday for a two-game series.
