Routine Traffic Assignment Results in Felony Drug & Firearm Bust

WCSO Press Release

COLFAX, WA- Saturday morning, deputies responded to the report of a stranded vehicle on a remote portion of Crumbaker Road just north of Colfax.  After arriving on scene and making contact with the driver and his passenger, it was determined that neither of the individuals were licensed to drive and both were convicted felons. Both individuals also appeared to be under the influence of narcotics. Further observations keyed deputies in on expended ammunition casings in and on the vehicle, which lead them to believe there may be firearms in the vehicle.

Based on this information, deputies applied for and were granted a search warrant for the vehicle.  During the search of the vehicle, deputies located 2 handguns, one of which was stolen, 60 grams of Heroin, 100 Fentanyl Tablets, Methamphetamine, a variety of pharmaceutical tablets packaged for resale, paraphernalia and nearly 2700 dollars in cash.

As a result, 30yoa Daniel Sallee of Four Lakes WA was booked into jail on a variety of charges to include Possession of a Stolen Firearm, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, and Several Narcotics Violations. 30yoa Ashley Muongmany of Kennewick WA was booked into jail on charges of possession of a controlled substance.  Both Sallee and Muongmany are scheduled to have their first appearances on Monday afternoon in Whitman County Superior Court.
