WELL 7 PROJECT - PHASE 2

City of Lewiston News

LEWISTON, ID - I'm sure by now you have all driven past this tall structure up on Nez Perce Grade and at some point wondered, "what is that?"

According to the city of Lewiston, This project is to construct Well 7, which will reduce demand on the 21st Street Booster Station, provide additional supply to high-growth areas (such as east of Gun Club Road and north of Warner Avenue), and minimize reliance on the Water Treatment Plant.

Crews will be drilling to approximately 1,800 feet and the well will be 24 inches in diameter.

“During this phase of the project, as crews drill a hole into the ground we will discover how much water we can get from this site,” Public Works Director Chris Davies said.

There are three phases to the overall project:

✓ Land Purchase and Preparation of the Site - COMPLETED

- Drilling and Casing of the Well - CURRENT PHASE

- Installation of the Pump, Motors, and Well House - IN DESIGN

Due to the successful passage of the water bond measure during the May 2019 Bond Election, this project is being funded by state revolving loans through the Department of Environmental Quality. This very important project is part of the overall improvements to the Water System.
