WSU Takes Down UCLA 81-73 in Pullman

WSU avenged a 30-point loss four weeks ago with this win.

PULLMAN, WA - Thursday night, WSU defeated the UCLA Bruins by a score of 81-73. Isaac Bonton lead the way with 26 points and ultimately avenged an ugly 30-point blowout from four weeks ago when the two teams last met.

Bonton also added four of the Cougars' 13 3-pointers on 22 attempts (59%), which helped turn the tide of the game.

UCLA on the other hand, couldn't get it going from beyond the arc, as it finished 5 of 20 from deep.

WSU opened the second half with a 17-5 run, which extended its lead tp 59-37. For those wondering, the last time WSU defeated UCLA by 20 was back in 1937, 48-25.

The Bruins wouldn't go down easily however, as an 11-2 run would trim WSU's lead to seven with 1:18 left in the game. Bonton would make 3 of 4 free throws down the stretch to finally secure the win.

The Cougars (9th in the Pac-12), improve to 12-8 on the season overall and 5-8 in conference play with the win.
