Whitman County Sheriffs Office

COLFAX, WA- Approximately 3:30 am on Monday morning Deputies, assisted by WSU Police Officers, responded to Horn School Rest Area near Rosalia, WA after being notified of a potential robbery and assault.  Deputies contacted the victim who told officers he had been traveling with two females, whom he had recently met when one of them stole his wallet and drove away with the other female. The victim, who was traveling in his own vehicle, told officers he stopped at the rest area for what he thought was going to be a romantic encounter when instead he was robbed.

The victim said he drove after the suspects, locating the vehicle and the two females on Cache Creek Road, located just south of the rest area.  The victim told officers that during the altercation, one of the females pulled out a firearm and fired at least one round at him. After this, he called 911.

A short time later, deputies located the suspect vehicle and both suspects, who during questioning admitted to stealing money from the suspect.  They also admitted to discharging a handgun at the victim because they believed he was trying to run them off the road.

As a result, 24-year-old Rienna Edgeman and 25-year-old Stacy Nieri, both of Moscow, ID were booked into the Whitman County Jail on Charges of 1st Degree Robbery and 1st Degree Assault.  Both are scheduled for First Appearances Tuesday Afternoon in Whitman County Superior Court.
