Three Transported to Hospital and One Arrested After Accident Saturday

CLARKSTON -- Fire and rescue crews from Lewiston, Asotin County Fire District #1 and Whitman County Fire District #14 responded to a head on two vehicle crash on highway 128 just east of Redwolf Bridge near Clarkston, Washington.

Rescue crews were dispatched at 2:15 p.m. Saturday afternoon. Upon arival rescue crews determened a white car and a red truck had been totaled. The white car was traveling eastbound with three individuals in the vehicle, all whom were transported to St, St Joseph Regional Medical Center for what appeared to be non life threatening injuries.

The driver of the red pickup was checked on scene and cleared by medics, however they were arrested on charges of driving under the influence. Washington State Patrol continues to investigate the incident. 

Witnesses stated the red pickup with one occupant, traveling westbound, swerved into the eastbound lane and collided head on with the white car, carrying 3 people, traveling in the eastbound lane. Lewiston Rescue Crews had to cut away the drivers door of the white car to get the driver out and to the ambulance.
