76-Year-Old Grangeville Woman Victim of Homicide Thursday

GRANGEVILLE - On Thursday, September 30, around 5:30 p.m., the Idaho County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a possible homicide.

Deputies responded to a residence on Cove Road, just outside of Grangeville. Inside they found the body of a 76 year-old woman. The scene was processed for evidence and her body has been turned over to the Idaho County Coroner’s Office. An autopsy was performed on Friday, which confirmed cause of death was homicidal violence.

Edwina “Eddy” Devin, 76 years old, of Grangeville, Idaho, died due to homicidal violence.

Detectives are requesting anyone with video who lives in or near the area of Cove Road preserve their video and let detectives know. They are looking specifically for video or anything unusual noticed between 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Thursday.

Deputies did go door to door on Friday, but if they missed you or you have additional information, please call (208) 983-1100 option 0. As this is an active investigation, no further details will be released at this time.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Mrs. Devin’s family as they and the community mourn the loss of our fellow resident.

Deputies are actively investigating this incident and next of kin has been notified.
