One Person Air Lifted After Crash on Waha Road.

Nez Perce County Sheriff's Office

WAHA - On Friday, November 12, at approximately 11:12 p.m., Nez Perce County Sheriff Deputies received a report with limited information from ONSTAR regarding an injury collision near the area of Lapwai Road and Lindsey Creek Road. After a short time, a new location of Waha Road and Rosenkrantz Road was given.

Upon arrival to the new location, Deputies found a single Ford sedan off the roadway. The driver, and sole occupant, was found to be unconscious but breathing. Life-flight was requested to the scene, and upon their arrival took the 19-year-old male driver to St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Lewiston.

Deputies and an Idaho State Trooper remained on scene to conduct the crash investigation. The roadway was closed down for approximately 2 hours. According to the Nez Perce County Sheriff's Office, alcohol and fatigue are both believed to be a factor in the crash.

The Nez Perce County Sheriff's Office would like to thank the Idaho State Police, Lewiston Ambulance, and Life-flight for their assistance. We would like to remind the public as always that alcohol and driving do not mix. We would also like to remind the public that fatigued or drowsy driving can be just as dangerous as drunk driving and to pull over and take a break if needed.
