Lewiston Police Arrested Suspect for Vandalizing Effies Tavern

Effies Tavern

LEWISTON - After being forced to close their doors Friday, December 31 due to vandalism, Effies Taven stated Lewiston Police arrested the individual who was responsible.

After owners Randee and Bill received a call at 1 a.m. telling them their restaurant had been vandalized. They learned all of Effie's front windows and door glass were bashed out with a baseball bat by a passer-by.

Randee and Bill plan to file an insurance claim, however getting the repairs scheduled this time of year may be a long process. In the meantime, Randee and Bill will be losing business and their employees will be out of work.

They are currently working to get their windows boarded and have a plan to reopen for at least to-go orders in the coming days. Effies stated in their Facebook post they want the comfort of their employees to come first and want to make sure they can keep the building warm enough.

"Our employees are our biggest concern and want to help them as much as possible. Thank you, everyone. We are truly people that do not know how to ask for help and we appreciate everyone".
