KCSO Volunteer Search and Rescue Locates Missing Person Wednesday Night

WORLEY -  On Wednesday, January 12th, at around 5:30 PM, the Kootenai County 911 Center received a call from a resident in the Conkling Park area stating his wife, who suffers from Alhzeimer’s Disease, was missing. Deputies from the Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office and Coeur d’ Alene Tribal Police officer’s responded to the area and began looking for the female.

The Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office Volunteer Search and Rescue Unit was activated and began responding to the area. At about 9:15 PM, Volunteer Search and Rescue K9 Handler Lindsay Halverson with K9 Birdie located the patient in the snow near the residence. Worley medical personnel responded and transported the patient to Kootenai Health where she was treated for mild hypothermia.
