Public Comment Period Now Open for the 2022 Transportation Capital Improvement Plan

City of Lewiston

LEWISTON - The City of Lewiston 2022 Transportation Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) is in the works, and community members' input is crucial to prioritize and scope projects. The Transportation CIP is updated annually and requires adoption by the Lewiston City Council.

Residents' input is sought to review the draft document and submit comments on their ranking, scope, or if projects should be removed or added prior to adoption. The annual public comment period for the Transportation CIP opens January 10, 2022, and closes February 10, 2022, at 12 p.m.

The current Transportation Plan, draft 2022 Transportation CIP, and comment form can be found on the City website:

An Open House where the public can view the Transportation Plan and draft CIP, ask questions, and provide comments, is scheduled for late January. More details will be provided to the public in a separate announcement at a later date.

Projects in the draft document have been ranked using City Council-approved quantitative and qualitative criteria developed from past public input.

The draft 2022 Transportation CIP and all comments received will be provided to the Lewiston City Council for review and potential adoption on February 28. A public hearing is also scheduled to take place at this meeting, during which the City Council will accept public comment on the Transportation CIP.
