National Forest Burning South of LC Valley

Prescribed Burning Finished

ANATONE, WA – If you’ve noticed the smoke to the south of the LC Valley, it will be gone soon.  The Pomeroy Ranger District has been doing some prescribed burning west of Anatone and southeast of Pomeroy.  They are now done burning, but you may still see some small amounts of smoke as the fire continues to smolder and creep into the timbered areas.  Forest Service and Department of Natural Resources personnel will patrol the area watching for fire activity for the next several days or weeks.

Forest Service employees caution hunters and hikers who head into that area.  They recommend you watch carefully for snags, burning stumps, and ash pits.
