Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office Notable Calls for 3/31/21

The Kootenai County Sheriff's Office responded to the following notable calls on 3/31/21:

Day Shift handled the following notable calls:

Deputies responded to a report of an unknown injury crash at Dalton Ave. and 17th St. A Patrol Sergeant located the vehicle and male at the dead-end of Dalton Ave, up against some bushes. The driver appeared to be having a medical episode and advised he was not feeling well and was light-headed. Medical arrived on scene and advised they believed the male was having a heart attack and transported him to KH via ambulance. Deputies made arrangements to take care of the male’s vehicle.

A Deputy arrested a juvenile on an outstanding warrant. She was already in JDC she was just re-arrested on the warrant. 21-13375

Evening Shift handled the following notable calls:

Deputies responded to Hauser Lake Rd and Cliff House Rd for a report of two juveniles playing "chicken" with passing cars. The juveniles were located and the situation would be dealt with within the family by the parent’s #21-13424

Deputies responded to a wanted person. A juvenile had a freshly signed warrant from a Judge but was refusing to turn herself into JDC. The female turned herself in prior to the deputies’ arrival and the situation was resolved. #21-13428

Deputies responded to a reported T-Bone crash at the intersection of Hayden X McGuire. The crash was noninjury and a report was completed. #21-13454

A Deputy responded for an Agency Assist at the request of Bonner County for a Single Vehicle Crash involving a Ford Fiesta. The Deputy located a vehicle vs. deer crash and it was noninjury #21-13458

A Deputy was conducting a traffic stop on a vehicle at Huetter and Hayden when a female approached from the darkness. The female stated she was lost and felt she had been followed. The female admitted to being in possession of a marijuana pipe and was cited accordingly. It was determined she was not being followed and was having issued due to the drug consumption. She was given a courtesy transport back to her mother's residence.

Night Shift handled the following notable calls:

Deputies responded to a domestic. A male and female got into a verbal altercation regarding infidelity issues. No crime was articulated. An FI was completed. 21-13475

A Deputy stopped a vehicle at Ramsey Rd. X Orchard Ave. The driver exhibited the symptoms of intoxication. Thomas failed SFST's and refused to submit to a breath test. He was arrested for 2nd offense DUI. 21-13494

Multiple Deputies responded to W. Arizona St. in the city of Rathdrum to assist RPD on a domestic involving a female with a knife. Once units were on scene, the female was contacted and detained without incident. RPD handled the incident. 21-13495

Deputies responded to the area of Diagonal Rd. and Sturgeon Rd. for a single-vehicle roll-over injury accident. A driver went to pass another vehicle and that vehicle decided to speed up. Both vehicles were speeding excessively and one of the vehicles lost control and went off the road and rolled approximately 40 feet into the trees. The driver suffered minor injuries and was treated on scene by medical. During the investigation, the other driver showed back up on the scene. The incident is still under investigation.
