Moscow Police Warning Notifies Public of New Utility Billing Scam

MOSCOW, ID - The Moscow Police Department and the Finance Departments, are cautioning Moscow residents about a new phone scam, that targets utility billing customers.

 Citizens have reported receiving calls from individuals identifying themselves as City of Moscow employees asking for bank account information needed to set up new utility billing accounts.

City of Moscow staff will never call citizens to request banking information. Should anyone receive a phone call requesting banking or personal information, the best course of action is to end the call immediately and file a report with the Moscow Police Department by calling 208-882-COPS.
