WALLA WALLA, WA – The Walla Walla Department of Community Health (DCH) was notified by the Department of Ecology that cyanobacteria, otherwise known as blue-green algae, was discovered on Bennington Lake in Walla Walla. Cyanobacteria can be harmful to people and fatal to animals. Due to toxicity levels, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Walla Walla District, in coordination with DCH, has closed the lake to the public.

On Wednesday, September 22, 2021, the U.S. District Court of Wyoming issued a federal arrest warrant for Brian Christopher Laundrie pursuant to a Federal Grand Jury indictment for violation of federal statute 18 U.S.C 1029(a)(1): "Use of Unauthorized Access Devices" related to Mr. Laundrie's activities following the death of Gabrielle Petito.

PASCO — A Seattle woman accused of forging signatures and stealing money by billing the state for appointments that never happened pleaded guilty Wednesday. Carla C. Moreno also repaid the Washington State Department of Labor and Industries (L&I) $43,296 in full for overbilling the department for interpreter services in the Tri-Cities.
