WASHINGTON, D.C. - Eastern Washington Congresswoman Cathy McMorris Rodgers would like to invite high school students from Washington’s Fifth Congressional District to participate in the Annual Congressional Art Competition. This event serves to highlight and encourage talented high schoolers from all around the country. The student who wins will be invited to Washington, D.C. for a ribbon-cutting ceremony and will have his or her artwork displayed in the US Capitol for one year.

Idaho Wheat Commission has Announced a $2 Million Gift has Been Given to U of I

BOISE, ID - The Idaho Wheat Commission has announced that a $2 million gift has been given to the University of Idaho to fund a new effort to expand education focused on risk management. The gift will be used to establish an Endowed Chair of Risk Management to enhance existing programs in agricultural commodity and financial risk management and will expand collaboration between the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences and the College of Business and Economics.

Rear-end crashes happen less there than in adjacent lanes. "Every time you change lanes you add risk," she says, "and the slow lane always has the most action." Other research has shown that the "chronic lane changer" saves a mere four minutes out of an 80-minute drive.

Idaho Humanities Council Awards $47,646 in Grants

LEWISTON, ID - The Idaho Humanities Council has awarded $47,646 in grants. This council is a statewide nonprofit organization devoted to enhancing public awareness, appreciation, and understanding of the humanities in Idaho.

The following local projects were funded:
Lewis-Clark State College Center for Arts & History, Lewiston, was awarded $2,500 to develop “Town & Gown,” an exhibit examining the relationship the college has fostered with the community of Lewiston over the course of the institution’s 125 year history.

Nez Perce Tribe's Annual Free Fishing Day Event is March 31st

OROFINO, ID - The Nez Perce Tribe's Annual Free Fishing Day event will take place March 31st at Tunnel Pond from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. There will be a reduced limit of three fish per person for the Free Fishing, Opening Day event.

From the Nez Perce Tribe:
Tunnel Pond is located one mile southeast of Orofino off of Lower Fords Creek Road. In addition to providing a great fishing opportunity for the whole family, there is a good chance to view wildlife.
